ASSIGNMENT 1:
Landscape Sketch Worksheet
For this project, the expected learning outcomes are to understand the basic graphic communication skill in landscape architecture and illustrate visual thinking skills that emphasize landscape features.
Week 1: Task A
We were assigned to replicate and identify from a given landscape master plan.
Starting off, I took measurements from the landscape master plan template and sketched out the layout of the replica.
Week 2: Task A
Blending the colours were not as easy as I expected it to be. After colouring the plan, I proceeded with outlining it with a 0.05mm Artline pen. When the plan was outlined, I then added the shadows. Overall I was happy with the results!
Week 3: Task B
Attempt after attempt, drawing these softscapes required many trials and errors before I could finally get it right. I had to scavenge the internet just to find what I wanted.

For hardscapes, it was much less complicating to draw. References were easier to find and identify. I managed to complete it quicker than the softscapes.
Week 4: Labelling
Labelling the master plan was very crucial. There were lines that must be seen and not blended in, accurate numbers with proper identification. This process took 8 attempts before I could finally carry it out onto the original plan.
REFLECTION
By doing this assignment, I was able to think critically can creatively by identifying and analysing the ways to execute this replication.
My intellectual engagement was truly insightful. I was able to locate, extract, synthesise and utilise the information I obtained from various resources via the internet.
I was given the ability to reflect on my actions by managing my time efficiently as well as refining self-reliance.
To conclude, this assignment was an eye opener to the very fundamentals of drawing presentable plans. It has taught me how to draw elements that represent each hardscape and softscape.
