DESIGN BASICS

Design Basics, a module conducted by Mr Choy Chun Wei, exposes students to the fundamentals of design comprising both elements and principles. With the integration of exploring various media and mediums, students are given the opportunity to deepen their comprehension of concepts and ideas. The principles and vocabulary of two-dimensional and three-dimensional designs are introduced to students as the rudimentary skill when it comes to the design field.

Thus, the learning outcomes are successfully executed to each and every student as this module requires creative endurance to carry out the assigned projects. All in all, Design Basics as a whole truly engraves the artistic insight for students to apply design techniques in the future.

MODULE REFLECTION

This module has taught me a lot. It has greatly deepened my understanding in design languages to express my creativity to its fullest potential. I am truly proud to say that I am now more aware of design techniques to utilise and integrate in any innovation I aim to execute.

As a perfectionist, noticing and observing miniscule details are natural for me, however this module has opened my eyes even closer to the world of nature and man-made elements. Although it was rather hectic due to the time consuming tasks, I still managed to strive through with constant resilience and determination.

With the ability to transform my ideas through various mediums and explore different media resources, I am more connected with using these tools to aid in design, all thanks to this module.
